As fall continues to set in across the Four States, over the next month ProMusica Joplin will host three performances at three different venues throughout Joplin.
This upcoming Thursday, the classical and choral non-profit celebrating its 41st season will welcome a Grammy-nominated, New York-based quartet to the Four States for a performance at the First Presbyterian Church at 509 Pearl Ave in Joplin.
Emlyn Johnson, Executive Director of ProMusica, says that she has close ties to two of the four members of PUBLIQuartet.
“I have a personal connection; two of the players, violinist Curtis Stewart and Nick Revel, were classmates of mine at the Eastman School of music years ago, so it’s been so fun to keep up with them along the way and see how celebrates the groups have been.”
PUBLIQuartet was nominated for a Grammy in 2020 for Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance for their album Freedom & Faith. The performance this Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Joplin starts at 7 pm. It’s free and open to the public. For more information, visit ProMusica.org
