We are less than two weeks from the start of the 43rd season of ProMusica Joplin. The non-profit will host seven performances this upcoming season. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

Circle Thursday, September 8, on your calendar. The day of the opening performance of ProMusica’s 2022-2023 season.
The classically minded organization welcomes a quartet of woodwinds, the Sinta Quartet, to perform their Spirit in the Machine program, including Bach and Beethoven pieces.
Executive Director of ProMusica Joplin Emlyn Johnson says that if you love classical music reimagined in a jazzy way, the Sinta Quartet is not to be missed.
“The Sinta Quartet is this incredibly dynamic saxophone quartet. Also, when we think of quartets in the classical music world, we’re thinking of string quartets, so saxophone is of course a little bit different, a more contemporary instrumentation.”
Perhaps the season’s highlight is ProMusica’s first concert inside the Beshore Performance Hall at the Cornell Complex. They’ll host the Schuman Quartet and Jon Nakamatsu on Tuesday, November 15.
