KRPS Presents for Sunday, July 24, 2022

This week on the show, we’ll learn about a great podcast to get your brain moving this summer, You’re Saying It Wrong, which just celebrated its 100th episode. Over the first four years, the podcast, a production of Wichita, (Kansas’s) NPR station KMUW has tackled various word and language questions. We hear from co-host Fletcher Powell.

Also, we’re in the midst of another COVID summer. Regardless of the season or the number of variants, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Sewershed Surveillance project is hard at work, doing the dirty work of tracking the pandemic. Jeff Wenzel with DHSS tells us how the project started and expanded to 100 wastewater sites.

Then the clock is ticking on primary day in Kansas and Missouri, Tuesday, August 2. Eight Republicans and three Democrats are running to break through and win Missouri’s 7th Congressional District Seat. Six-term Congressman Billy Long decided to move on from the 7th and run for U.S. Senate. We’ll hear from the three Dem candidates at a recent townhall.

Finally, we wrap up today’s show with our weekly film review from Fletcher Powell. He has high standards and says the new Netflix film The Gray Man has a fitting title.
