Tonight, city council members will meet for their bi-weekly meeting in Webb City. Among topics on the agenda another fast-food restaurant being constructed on Madison Street. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

Webb City’s Madison Street, where it intersects Highway 171 going south, includes numerous fast food locations such as McDonald’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, Sonic, and Wendy’s.
Today, primarily restaurants line Madison on property that for many decades were homes. It’s rumored that a new Whataburger location will be constructed between 7th and 8th streets, and city staff and council will discuss the latest developments tonight.
Also, city staff will provide an update about the problematic parking situation at King Jack Park. According to the Administrators Report posted on the city’s website, WebbCityMo.org city staff will likely add a parking area near the soccer fields.
Additional parking for the baseball and softball fields is also being studied. The Webb City city council meeting gets underway tonight at 5:30.
