2022 marks ten years for the Pittsburg Festival of the Arts. Last night, the first of 12 concerts in Pittsburg took place at the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts. Today the festival will hold two events. The Pittsburg Brass Quintet will perform at 2pm at Pittsburg Public Library.
And tonight at seven at PSU’s McCray Hall, clarinet and sax ensembles will perform. Director of the festival Raul Munguia says Wednesday night’s performers are the headlining group.
“These are professional artists coming from Kansas City. They are a very well-established ensemble. It’s called Ensemble Iberica. Amado, who is leading this particular quartet is going to be performing music from Peru, from Bolivia, from Chile.”
The final performance of the week-long event will be the ’90s cover band Bill and Monica’s Excellent Adventure Friday night at seven at Miners and Monroe.
