Summer is just around the corner, and with it the Webb City Route 66 Cruise A Palooza. On Monday night, Webb City’s city council approved a change to this year’s event. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

This year the Cruise A Palooza will be held at King Jack Park from July 8th through the 10th. The city’s annual summer family festival & Outdoor Expo includes a car show, cook-off, live entertainment, food trucks, craft vendors, a petting zoo, inflatables, and fireworks.
One aspect that the event hasn’t included in the past was alcohol. That changed on Monday when the city council voted 6 to 2 to allow a beer garden at this year’s Cruise A Palooza. After, at times spirited debate, the board voted in favor of a one-time exception for alcohol at the event.
No hard liquor will be allowed, and only individuals 21 years and older will be allowed into the beer garden, which will feature several local brewers, including Flag City, Chaos Brewing, and others. Event organizers have said that over 30 food vendors have signed up to attend. For 89 9
