Pittsburg State University held a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday for a new simulation hospital addition to McPherson Hall as well as a new home to the Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing.

The project will include new construction of an approximately 10,000-square feet addition, plus targeted renovations of approximately 14,000 square feet in the existing building. It will accommodate groupings of 120 students; currently, there are 90.

Vice president for university advancement and president of the PSU Foundation Kathleen Flannery speaking Thursday, “This simulation hospital will assist faculty and nurses for this dynamic environment. Amazingly the almost seven million dollar project is being funded by private gifts.” The project is expected to be completed in August of 2023.
