Tomorrow night at Joplin’s Central Christian Center, you can watch one of the world’s most renowned alto sax jazz players and Joplin native Charles McPherson at no cost. McPherson and his band are performing as part of Connect 2 Culture’s Curtain Up series. McPherson, who now lives in San Diego, is currently a composer for the city’s ballet in which his daughter is a performer. Camille will perform alongside her Father this weekend. “She will; she will perform, there’s a piece called ‘Hear My Plea’ which is one of the suites that I’ve done with the ballet company, and we recorded it on Jazz Dance Suites.”
At McPherson’s request, Connect2Culture will be enforcing a strict COVID-19 policy at Saturday performance, including wearing a mask, proof of complete vaccination, or proof of a negative test 72 hours before the event. Reservations are not required for Saturday’s concert but are highly recommended. Visit Connect2Culture.org for more information.
