The Neosho City Council met Tuesday night and passed a change to their Celebrate Neosho festival held the last Saturday in June. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

The Neosho Event Board recommended to the city council that the Neosho charge for-profit vendors to have a booth at Celebrate Neosho. In 2021, the city didn’t charge a vendor fee. Ward 3 Council Member Julie Humphrey shared her thoughts Tuesday about whether to add a cost to this year’s event. “That there is going to be that many people and f there was a fee for their space they would take things more seriously. There are several people that have dealt with the food vendors in the past, that’s something for the food vendors that they kind of go, “oh okay” They’re expecting a lot of people, they are going to be able to serve a lot of food here.”
The city council unanimously approved a $25 for-profit vendor expense and a $10 outlet hookup fee. Celebrate Neosho will happen this year on Saturday, June 25, around the courthouse in downtown Neosho. For 89 9 KRPS, I’m Fred Fletcher-Fierro
