If you ever considered signing up for or need to renew your health insurance through the federal exchange, circle Saturday, January 15, 2022, on your calendar. That is the final day of a special extension to enroll for health insurance through healthcare.gov.

At the same time, scammers also know the January 15 deadline and are looking for ways to get your personal information, according to Stephanie Garland of the Better Business Bureau, “Scammers are actually claiming to be a quote, healthcare, benefits, advocates, or a similar title. They are supposing that they can go ahead and enroll you in a better program than what you currently have. And what we’re hearing is that they’re telling people the new plan is cheaper.” The Better Business Bureau warns that no government agency will solicit your personal information over the phone or email. For 89 9 KRPS, I’m Fred Fletcher-Fierro
