With just over two weeks before Christmas, the Dallas String Quartet will visit Southwest Missouri this Saturday, as part of Connect 2 Culture’s Curtains Up series. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

The Dallas String Quartet will be making their first visit to Joplin as the second performance of Connect 2 Cultures 2021-2022 Curtains Up series. The quartet formed in 2008 has helped reimagine classical music, fusing it with pop and rock hits. They’ve covered numerous hits across their six albums including Taylor Swift, Coldplay and even Metallica.
Violinist of the Dallas String Quartet Ion Zanca says that this Saturday’s concert in Joplin will be filled with Christmas flair. “Beautiful music with melodies that everyone knows, like O’Holy Night and My Favorite Thing. And really interesting arrangements that involve intimate sounds from a string quartet but also we bring guitars and drums, percussion and lighting, so it’s a full show that people can enjoy.” The performance will take place Saturday night at 7 at Ozark Christian College.
