Crowder College President search down to four candidates

Crowder College in Neosho, (Missouri) is searching for a new president. The exploration is down to four candidates. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

The first of eight public forums will begin this morning at 10 am with the four finalists to lead Crowder College. Each candidate will be the focus of two one-hour forums which are open to anyone interested, including the general public. Dr. Colleen Simspon will be the focus of today’s interview. Simspon is currently the Vice President of Student Services and Regional Learning Centers at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay. Dr. Kim Armstrong will take center stage tomorrow. Armstrong serves as Vice Chancellor for Student Equity and Community Affairs at Arkansas State University Three Rivers in Malvern.

On Wednesday, the focus will turn to Dr. Katricia G. Pierson, the current President of East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. Dr. David Hinds will round out the forums on Thursday. Hinds presently works as a consultant to the Texas Association of Community College. All four candidate forums will take place starting at 10 am and 2 pm. Both in-person at Crowder College and on Zoom. The new President will replace Dr. Glenn Coltharp who announced in March that would retire after four years on the job. For 89 9 KRPS, I’m Fred Fletcher-Fierro
