This morning, in Jefferson City, the Governor’s Mansion Christmas tree will arrive. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro says that Candlelight Tours and the tree lighting ceremony will take place on Friday.

The Christmas tree that will be displayed at the Governor mansion this year is a 30 foot Norway Spruce donated by Steve and Carla Lieble of Columbia, Missouri. Inside the Governor’s residence will be a 20-foot Norway spruce supplied by Pea Ridge Forest of Hermann, Missouri. Staff from the Missouri Department of Conversation will install the tree on the inside of the Governor’s mansion, while personnel from the Missouri Department of Administration will place the tree on the front yard of Governor Parson’s residence.
Also on Friday, the Parsons will embark on a week-long international trade trip to Israel and Greece. In place of the Governor and Teresa Parson, Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe and Second Lady Claudia Kehoe will light the 2021 Mansion Christmas tree at 6 p.m. on Friday. The Candlelight Tours will begin immediately following the tree lighting, and the Mansion doors will be open until 8 p.m. Tours will also be available on Monday, December 6, 2021, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. They are free and open to the public.
