Later this morning officials with Freeman Health System and the city of Joplin will unveil the theme of the city’s Christmas parade. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

In another sign that life is getting back to normal, the Christmas parade which was canceled last year due to the pandemic will return this year. This morning at 10 Joplin Mayor Ryan Stanley and Freeman President and CEO Paula Baker will hold a joint press conference at city hall to reveal the theme and logo of the parade.
This will be the 8th year that Freeman has coordinated the parade which will have a maximum of 75 floats in addition to marching bands. The Joplin Christmas parade will be held on Main Street in downtown Joplin on Tuesday, December 7th at 6 pm. For 89 9 KRPS, I’m Fred Fletcher-Fierro
