While there is a chance of rain in the area this weekend, there is no shortage of events taking place across the Four States. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

Throughout the fall semester, Missouri Southern State University in Joplin has held events with a focus on Japan, including two this weekend. Tonight at 7:30, Southern’s Percussion Group Presents Stories From Japan. The festivities continue Saturday starting at 11 am with an exhibition by a Japanese potter, a Kimono fashion show at 2, and a drum performance at 3:30. Both Friday and Saturday events are happening at the Bud Walton Theater at MSSU. The events are free and open to the public.
If you’re in Southeast Kansas on Saturday night, Olive Street Presents is hosting Fayetteville, Arkansas-based, husband and wife duo, Smokey & The Mirror. The founders of the Fayetteville Roots Festival, Bryan and Bernice Hembree will be making a stop on Olive Street in Pittsburg this Saturday night.
