Missouri State Representative Ben Baker was on hand Tuesday night at the Neosho City Council meeting to honor the city’s mayor. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

Neosho Mayor William Doubek was honored with a State Proclamation Tuesday night at the Neosho City Council meeting. Long before Doubek served in city government Doubek served in the US Armed Forces completing two tours, he also survived three helicopter crashes, one of which he was listed as Missing In Action and presumed dead.
Representative Baker speaking at the Council meeting Tuesday. “Dr. Doubek also served as a United States Department of Defense Officer in Bangkok, Thailand, a National Chaplain Officer in the American Legion National Office for five years, and a State Chaplain for the Veterans of Foreign Wars for eight years.” Doubek was first elected to the Neosho City Council in 2016 and re-elected three years later.
