Due to an abnormally low flu season last year, scientists and doctors are uncertain about how severe this flu season is going to be. Regardless, their urging people to get vaccinated KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

So far this year it’s a mild flu season across the US. Only New Mexico has experienced moderate flu activity. Out of nearly 29,000 flu tests administered throughout the country last week, only 42 came back positive. That’s just 0.1% positivity. That equates to 276 patients being admitted to the hospital nationwide due to the flu, and zero deaths, and Doctors would like to keep it that way.
With that in mind, the Springfield-Greene County Health Department announced Monday that they’ve expanded their COVID-19 vaccine finder website, to also include flu shots. With few exceptions, the CDC recommends that everyone six months and older get a flu shot to prevent severe illness, hospitalization, and death. You can find a COVID-19 or flu vaccine anywhere in Southwest Missouri at Vaccine417.com. Once again that’s Vaccine417.com
