City of Joplin opens tree limb drop-off site

High winds shredded through trees on Monday in SW Missouri

Due to the storms that battered Southwest Missouri on Sunday night and into Monday, the City of Joplin announced that they will open their limp drop-off site for residents starting this morning. (Tuesday) The drop-off site address is 1702 North Schifferdecker Avenue. This free drop-off site is for Joplin residents only, and professional contractors will NOT be allowed to dump.

Also, Joplin residents who have their garbage picked up by Republic Services, yard waste removal will take place on it’s regular pick-up day. Also any tree limbs must be cut to a minimum of 4 feet, bundled and no heavier than 50 pounds.

The tree limb drop off site will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. starting Tuesday, October 12 through Saturday, October 16.
