Summer is winding down, but there is still plenty to do this weekend

Sunny and warm conditions are expected this weekend across Southwest Missouri, a perfect time to get outside and attend some of the events happening this weekend. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

Start your Saturday in Diamond, Missouri as George Washington Carver National Monument holds their Prairie Day event on Saturday from 10 AM until 3 PM. The event includes outdoor concerts, junior ranger activities, and a wildflower walk. More info at their Facebook page at GeorgeWasingtonCarver NW.

Joplin’s historic Murpshyburg is celebrating 150 years since the area was incorporated and residents are holding a street fair with live music, walking tours, miniature train rides, and more. It’s being held tomorrow between 2 and 5 PM in Joplin on South Segerent between 2nd and 5th streets. More info at murphysburg.org.

It’s a collection of 200 pictures taken by professional and amateur photographers from across the state to capture and share the unique and meaningful aspects of Missouri.
