The President of Cottey College in Nevada, (Missouri) announced that she was retiring on Monday. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

Cottey College President Dr. Jann Weitzel on Monday that she would be retiring after this upcoming academic year that ends on June 30, 2022. Wetizal was named the college’s 12th President in 2015. A native of Iowa,. Weitzel earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts degree in Gifted Education from the University of Northern Iowa, in addition to a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Supervision from the University of Iowa.
She is also a 31-year member of Philanthropic Educational Organization, the institution that owns the College and focuses on supporting the education of women. Cottey College is an independent women’s college with a residential student capacity of 350 representing 40 states and 18 countries annually.
