Pittsburg State University’s president announced Monday that he will step down after the coming academic year. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

President Steve Scott announced in an email that he will leave the top job at PSU after 12 years. Scott, a native of Baxter Springs, Kansas, attended the school and has spent his entire 34-year career with Pittsburg State. Scott spearheaded major building projects… including the $33 million dollar Bicknell Center for the Arts, which was constructed with private funds and opened in 2014. He says he may teach at the school in the future.
