Later this week, ProMusica Joplin concludes their pandemic shortened 2020-2021 ‘Reimagined Season’. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

The non-profit, celebrating its 40th anniversary, is known for classical music, but this Thursday will welcome back one of the most well-known jazz groups worldwide, The Brubeck Brothers Quartet to Joplin. The quartet includes Chris and Dave Brubeck, sons of the noted jazz pianist and composer Dave Brubeck.

The performance will take place as part of Third Thursday in downtown Joplin at the corner of 6th and Main, near City Hall. The quartet is internationally recognized having played throughout North America and Europe including at the Newport, Detroit, Montreal, Hollywood Bowl, and Monterey Jazz Festivals. The performance marks the second time in four years the group has performed in Joplin. The concert this Thursday starts at 6:30 pm and is open to the public with no reservations required.
