With Covid cases stable in the community at just over four new cases per day and all residents 16 years and older eligible to receive a Covid 19 vaccine, the Joplin city council on Monday lifted the remaining Covid restrictions in the city. Although the move to lift restrictions in Joplin doesn’t exit the city from its recovery and reopening plan entirely.
Mayor Ryan Stanley responding to a question from Council Member Anthony Monteleone. “The exhibits will still be there, but we relax. Monteleone, A vote yes is a vote to no longer enforce the exhibits. Stanley, Yes, no longer enforce the exhibits. Thank you.” During the meeting, council members spoke for several minutes about where the city stood in its recovery plan, prompting a motion by Council-member Shaw to clarify the issue.
