Rob Mallory was named the 6th Athletic Director in Missouri Southern’s history on Friday. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.
Mallory comes from NCAA Division II Institution, Kentucky Wesleyan; he served as vice president of intercollegiate athletics. He was promoted to that position in January after serving as director of athletics since May of 2015.
According to a press release, in 2019, Mallory was appointed to the NCAA Division II National Football Committee for a four-year term, which followed three-year terms serving on the NCAA Division II Regional Advisory Committee for football and baseball. Mallory spoke at a press conference Friday announcing his hiring. “I don’t come here today with some master plan with some guarantee of success. So I say let’s keep it simple right now. Starting today. Starting at this moment. Let’s just focus on simply being the best version of Missouri Southern that we can be.” He starts his new job Thursday, July 1st.
