With beautiful Spring weather expected tomorrow and various events in Southwest Missouri, it can be challenging to choose. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

If you want to get out of the house this weekend, maybe the Model Train show and swap meet at Joplin’s History and Mineral Museum on Saturday from 9 to 3 is your speed. Also, stop in and visit the Joplin Empire Market and celebrate the market’s third birthday this weekend. Enjoy a delicious hot dog roast, visit with alpacas from WellSpring Acres, or participate in a “Name the Baby Goat” contest.
The Joplin Empire Market is open Saturday from 10 to 2. Just down the street, the Spiva Center for Art is hosting their popular Art on Tap, with art, beer, food, and more, Saturday evening from 5 to 8. Perhaps you want something more educational, then stop in at the George Washington National Monument in Diamond, Missouri. The center has reopened for in-person visiting and is beautiful this time of year. Open seven days a week from 9 to 5. With a unique program this Sunday at 1, titled ‘Who Was George Washington?’ For KRPS, I’m Fred Fletcher-Fierro in Webb City
