This morning, the City of Joplin will hold a walk-in Covid 19 vaccine clinic. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

The event at Missouri Southern State University starts this morning at 8:30 and runs until 1:30 this afternoon. While you are encouraged to register at MOStopsCovid.com, the clinic is also accepting walk-ins.
Joplin Health Director Ryan Talken speaking Monday at a press briefing, says that the number of new cases has stabilized. “I call us relatively flat, maybe slightly up. We’re currently sitting at 4.5 confirmed cases per day, average, over the last seven days. We’re up about one case per day where we were last week.” Statewide, according to the Missouri Department of Health, new Covid cases are down over 20% in the past two weeks. While deaths due to the disease have decreased over 85% over the same period.
