Spring is here. Time to dust off the lawnmower. But what if you want to hire someone to take care of your landscaping the BBB warns you better do your homework. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

How long has it been since you mowed your lawn? 5, maybe six months? But unlike in the past, this season, you’ve decided that you’re going to let someone else handle making your lawn look great. But who do you hire? The Best Business Bureau has a checklist of tips on what to look for when hiring a lawn care professional. According to their polling, Stephanie Garland of the BBB in Springfield, MO, says there is one particular feature customers seek. “The BBB found that the main thing that people want is people want to hire a business, especially a landscaper that is trustworthy. That is honest; that is reputable. After all, they are going to be near your kids, or your Grand kids when they are working your house outside.”
The BBB also recommends having a clear understanding of the work you want the company to do. In addition to getting receipts for all of the work done and reviewing whether they are BBB accredited.
