Spring is here, and ProMusica Joplin returns with in-person performances

ProMusica Joplin will hold its first in-person event in more than a year in a little under two weeks from today. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

If you’re itching for a return to normalcy, then circle Thursday, April 8th on your calendar. That’s the night ProMusica will host the Austin, Texas-based quartet, Invoke, at 6:30 pm. The location, a park in Joplin, has not yet been announced. The group’s instruments range from violin, viola, and cello to the banjo, mandolin, and vocals.

Prior to their free concert on April 8th, the group will spend two days in Joplin Public Schools engaging with students in the 6 through the 12 grade. Before Invoke’s performance, ProMusica hosted a series of three on-demand events. The classical chamber and jazz presenter is celebrating its 50th year of performances in 2021.
