The number of new Covid-19 at Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State remain low, mirroring state and local data. KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

For the week ending March 14, Missouri Southern reported one new case of Covid 19 according to their online dashboard. Since last fall, the university has accounted for 280 student cases and 45 cases involving faculty and staff. The Bryant Health Department at Pittsburg State reports consecutive weeks of no cases on campus.
The continuing low number of Covid 19 cases at Pitt State and Missouri Southern is part of a larger picture across Kansas and Missouri. 20.5 of Kansas residents have received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, according to state data at Kansas vaccine dot com. The Missouri department of health reports that about 20 percent of all Missouri residents have received at least one dose. Tomorrow, Missouri Governor Mike Parson will hold a conference at Arrowhead Stadium announcing its opening as a mass vaccination site.
