Today is the final day of Severe Weather Preparedness Week, but that doesn’t mean you should stop thinking about the threat of severe weather. K R P S’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro has more.

Warmer temperatures and springtime signal the start of severe weather season in the Four States, and now is the time to prepare. John Blake of Freeman’s Ozark Center in Joplin recommends packing at least three days’ worth of food, water, clothing, medications, flashlights, and batteries for peace of mind to have ready. John promotes journaling as another way to lower your anxiety or stress during storm season. “Lately, we have been recommending stress journaling. So there’s 10 different types of journaling that are good to combat stress. And we have journals and information about those and they can give us a call and have a class, maybe at their business or we can talk to them one on one and provide that.” You can contact John Blake by calling the Ozark Center in Joplin at 417-347-7730.
