Missouri Governor Mike Parson held his weekly COVID-19 update with State Health Director Randall Williams. Parson acknowledged last week’s State of the State address and said that his administration remains focused on Economic Development and Education. However, he spent the majority of his remarks addressing COVID-19 and the disjointed rollout of the vaccine across the State. “Vaccine supply continues to be the limiting factor but we are committed to fairly allocating doses throughout the state and working with vaccinators to ensure efficient administration of the vaccine as quickly as possible.” Parson also said by the end of this week, at least 600,000 Missouri residents would have been inoculated with at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. According to analysis by the New York Times Wednesday, Missouri ranks 49th in the US for residents receiving their 1st dose of a vaccine. In comparison, Oklahoma ranks 6th, Arkansas is 13th, and Kansas ranks 47th in the country.
