‘The Rundown’ News Headlines from KRPS for 08.26.20

Happy Wednesday, and thanks for joining me for The Rundown, news headlines from K R P S 

Kansas legislators are studying potential changes to the state’s emergency response law after sometimes clashing with Governor Laura Kelly over her COVID-19 response.

The University of Kansas says 222 people have tested positive for the virus as of Monday night. Stephan Bisaha of the Kansas News Service has more.

On Tuesday afternoon, Webb City schools were the first district in Southwest Missouri to close one of its campuses because of COVID-19. 

A teenager in the only juvenile prison in Kansas has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Missouri House passed 5 of the 6 crime bills proposed for the special legislative session.
