Jackson County’s prosecutor announced charges for the June fatal shooting of 4-year-old LeGend Taliferro Thursday.  

The House Ethics Committee announced Thursday that it will investigate Kansas Congressman Steve Watkins after he was charged with multiple felonies for registering to vote using a UPS store in Topeka as his address. 

The Missouri General Assembly’s special session on violent crime is on hold after House Republicans decided to change its legislative strategy. 

The United States Postal Service is facing two challenges that experts worry could impact the general election. 

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly says she expects some teachers will leave the profession because of the pandemic. 

Another 43 prisoners in Kansas have tested positive for the coronavirus. Nomin Ujiyediin of the Kansas News Service reports they will be quarantined at the Lansing Correctional Facility. 

The fund used to pay Kansas unemployment claims is running out of money. The almost $1 billion on hand at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic has shrunk to $660 million.
