As COVID-19 restrictions are eased throughout Missouri, businesses and public buildings are starting to reopen. The Joplin Public Library will open its doors on Monday, June 8, at 10 am after an almost three-month closure in response to the coronavirus pandemic. While the facility will reopen, there will be changes in how the library operates, including limiting the number of hours it is open, the number of visitors it will allow at one time, and social distancing guidelines will be enforced.
On Tuesday morning, JPL’s Director Jeana Gockley spoke with KRPS’s Fred Fletcher-Fierro about some of the changes and what it has been like to reorganize a public facility that is used by so many in the community.
