Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said Monday that he will not run for the U.S. Senate. As Stephen Koranda of the Kansas News Service reports, Schmidt had been considering a race to replace retiring Senator Pat Roberts.

A South Dakota beef packaging company announced plans Monday to build a new plant employing 300 people in western Kansas.

The first group of licenses for Missouri’s medical marijuana program has officially been awarded.

The Missouri General Assembly will agree to legalize sports betting in 2020. That’s according to State Representative Dan Shaul, Republican from Jefferson County.
