Kansas Senator Jerry Moran says he’s helped broker a deal with Quivira National Wildlife Refuge to delay restricting groundwater pumping in central Kansas. For the Kansas News Service, Brian Grimmett reports.

Kansas City sports officials say the resumption of the men’s basketball rivalry between KU and MU could be the beginning of a broader thaw between the schools’ athletic programs.

An educator advisory panel is recommending mandating gifted and talented instruction at every school district. That requirement was eliminated in 2006.  Steve Coxon is chair of the gifted education advisory council.
