A new report identifies the cause of August’s fire at a Tyson meatpacking plant in Western Kansas. Corinne Boyer of the Kansas News Service has more.

Kansas City sports officials say the resumption of the men’s basketball rivalry between KU and MU could be the beginning of a broader thaw between the schools’ athletic programs. KU and MU announced Monday they will play a six-year series of games in men’s basketball beginning next December at Sprint Center.

Missouri’s education department is considering a rule that will put more guidance counselors in its public schools. Counselors in Missouri currently average caseload of about 350 students each.
