A major health insurer in Kansas will likely drop its premiums in 2020 after its rates went higher than needed in the past. Celia Llopis-Jepsen of the Kansas News Service has more.

On Thursday, two Cargill workers were flown to Wichita to treat burns they received after an explosion at the company’s beef packing facility in Dodge City. Dan Sulivan with Cargill says the company is still investigating the cause of Thursday morning’s accident and shut down part of the plant.

41 rural school districts in 10 south-central Missouri towns are getting money to help bolster science and math programs. Saint Louis Public radio’s Jonathan Ahl reports many of them are doing it through teacher training and after school programs.
