Kansas child welfare advocates have updated their class-action lawsuit against the state. Nomin Ujiyediin of the Kansas News Service explains.

Kansas Treasurer Jake LaTurner
is ending his run for the U.S. Senate and will instead challenge Kansas Congressman Steve Watkins in a GOP primary. It comes a week after former Governor Jeff Colyer took the unusual step of calling on LaTurner to challenge Watkins.

A team of disaster relief workers from Springfield, Missouri-based Convoy of Hope has arrived in The Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian destroyed entire swaths of the country and caused seawater to flood up to the attics of many homes.

A grassroots Missouri campaign is collecting signatures on petitions to put a Medicaid expansion up to a statewide vote. As St. Louis Public Radio’s Sarah Fentem reports, the state is one of 14 that has not done so.
