Community mental health centers in Kansas will ask lawmakers to boost state funding by $8 million next year. As Stephen Koranda of the Kansas News Service reports, the centers are looking for ways to reduce staff turnover and reverse cuts to services.

Amelia Earhart is one of the most famous Kansans who ever lived. The aviator from Atchison set numerous world records before she disappeared over the Pacific in 1937. Now, another famous Kansan is searching for answers in her disappearance. Kansas Public Radio’s J. Schafer reports.

Missouri Governor Mike Parson and leaders of the Legislative Black Caucus met Tuesday to address the issue of gun violence.  As St. Louis Public Radio’s statehouse reporter Jaclyn Driscoll reports, it seems as though little progress was made in the 30-minute meeting leaving the leaders of the Black Caucus frustrated.
