1) Kansas is hiring private prison company CoreCivic to house hundreds of inmates in Arizona. Nomin Ujiyediin of the Kansas News Service reports on problems the company has faced around the country.
2) A fire at a Tyson beef processing plant near Garden City in southwestern Kansas will likely hurt the price of cattle. Before the fire, the plant slaughtered about 5,600 cattle a day.
3) Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway is officially running for governor. Galloway announced her 2020 bid in a web video released on Monday morning.
