The Joshua Espinoza Trio Performs at Missouri Southern’s Corley Auditorium

Joshua Espinoza of the Joshua Espinoza Trio started learning how to play the piano at the age of 11. He had a passion for both classical and jazz early in life which has lead to him to his current position as a member of the music faculty at the Peabody Institute of The John Hopkins University. In 2018, he was a finalist at the inaugural  Ellis Marsalis International Jazz Piano Competition held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Joshua Espinoza Trio is comprised of Espinoza on piano, Mikel Combs on Bass and Missouri Southern State alum, Jaron Lamar Davis on drums. The JET is going to released their first album on June 14, titled “Journey Into The Night”. Today on Morning Edition, Joshua Espinoza speaks about his musical background, the creation of his own jazz trio and some of the musical influences behind his style of jazz. 

The Joshua Espinoza Trio will be performing on Tuesday, April 16 at Missouri Southern’s Corley Auditorium at 7:30 pm. The performance is open to the public.
