David Oakley admits that he wasn’t much of a student prior to his time at Pittsburg State University in the mid-1990’s. But during his time at the Pitt State his life came into focus, from meeting his future wife and the mother of his four children to embarking him on a career that would lead him to work for the CIA and to his current position as an Assistant Professor at the National Defense Universities College of International Studies in Washington D.C.
Earlier this year David released his first book, “Subordinating Intelligence: The DoD/CIA Post-Cold War Relationship”. The book focuses on the relationship between the US Department of Defense and the Central Intelligence Agency starting in the mid 1980’s through 9/11.
He will be signing copies of “Subordinating Intelligence: The DoD/CIA Post-Cold War Relationship” at the Gorilla Bookstore inside the Overman Student Center at Pittsburg State on Tuesday, April 16 from 3-5 pm.
