Author Ralph Fletcher will be the keynote speaker at the first annual Gorilla Literacy Conference being held at the Overman Student Center on Friday April 5, 2019. The theme of the conference is “Creating Joyful Writing Experiences for the Students and Teachers”. Crimson and Gold host Fred Fletcher-Fierro spoke with Fletcher about the importance of learning to write well in the age of advanced technology. We also learned about how Fletcher along with this wife and former 4th-grade teacher JoAnn Portalupi worked together to develop techniques to help educators who teach elementary and middle school students become better writers.
Registration for the one-day event is $76 which is scheduled to begin at 8:30 am. The registration deadline is Friday March, 29 2019.
