‘Focus On The Four States’ – New Head Football Coach Of Missouri Southern Jeff Sims

The 2018 football season ended for Missouri Southern with a 41-0 rout at the hands of MIAA rival Pittsburg State University. It was the end of a long season for the Lions, one in which they lost their final 5-games, the last 3 they were shutout. The teams head coach Denver Johnson resigned mid-season and defensive coordinator Joe Battasso was promoted to head coach.

Southern waited no time turning the page on the 2018 season announcing the hiring of Jeff Sims as their new football coach the day after the season ended on Sunday Nov. 10. A month later the energetic Sims was setting up shop at Southern getting things prepared for their 2019 week one match-up hosting Nebraska-Kearney.
