The 2018 NJCAA football championship game is a true clash of the titans. It’s a match-up of the 2016 champion, Garden City taking on the 2017 champ, East Mississippi. Tonight’s game is also one of many firsts. It’s the first time that the Broncbuster have ever faced the Lions. It’s also the first time that the championship game in the NJCAA will played on a neutral field and the first time the game will be broadcast nationally, on the CBS Sports Network. Levi Burnfin, sports reporter for the Garden City Telegram expects the game to be close, but he pointed out that Garden Cities defense is prone to the big play. He joined KRPS’s Morning Edition to talk about the match-up and the legacy that Garden City Head Coach Jeff Sims leaves in Western Kansas has he has been hired by Missouri Southern to lead their football team next season.
