‘The Crimson And Gold Connection’ – Pittsburg State Head Basketball Coach Amanda Davied

New women’s head basketball coach Amanda Davied knows her way around Pittsburg State. Prior to being named head coach of her alma mater back in May Davied served as an assistant coach for 15-season at Pittsburg State, 12 of those working with her mentor then Pitt State head coach Lane Lord who left Southeast Kansas to accept a head coaching position at Division 1 University of Texas Rio Grande Valley last off-season.  Prior to that, she excelled as a player in the early 2000’s for the Gorillas earning All-MIAA honor three times and is currently the schools 9th leading scorer with 1,299 points. Davied isn’t taking anything in stride through and knows that Pittsburg State women’s basketball has a winning reputation throughout the MIAA, and outside of the conference that rivals are going to look to exploit during her first season as the head coach.
