Spring is music festival season! A rite of passage for young performers in elementary and middle schools, and for music students in colleges and universities across the country. On Saturday April 21st 1000’s of school age musical performers will descend on Pittsburg State University for the 31st Annual Mid-American Music Festival. The music starts at 8 AM. The festival includes everything from solos, to large ensembles and even chorus’s which will be performing at the Bicknell Family Center For The Arts.
This week on ‘The Crimson And Gold Connection’ we were joined by Pittsburg State University Music Professor Dr. James Clanton. He spoke about both the Mid-American Music Festival and how he started playing the piano at just 5-years old and how that set him on a course for a lifelong love of music.
